This heat wave has prompted a flood of phone calls for air conditioning repairs and some customers may be on a long waiting list.
Triple digit temperatures started this weekend and the forecast is more of the same through Saturday. No wonder that service for air conditioning is at its peak right now.
Rob Ryan with Queirolo’s Heating and Air in Stockton found more than 30 messages waiting for him when he walked into the office with the phones still ringing.
He says keeping up with the demand is tough, and for some, there will be a delay.
“At least a day if not more, we’re already booked out through into next week,” says Ryan.
He also says most calls only need an hour for repairs.
“If the unit gets too hot, they just shut down on an internal overload. Sometimes that’s from a lack of maintenance from not having been cleaned.”
For those without A/C, many community centers and libraries have opened as cooling centers and extended their hours.
