The Calaveras County website was taken down Wednesday afternoon after hackers changed the content on the site.
This is similar to other recent pro-ISIS hacks of government websites in Washington State, Ohio, Maryland, and New York.
Assistant Calaveras County Administrative Officer Brian Moss said an unauthorized message and various concerning photographs were displayed on the site, so the county took it offline.
Moss said there's no reason to believe any county data was compromised.
There's no word yet on when the public will again have access to the Calaveras County site.
