UPDATE 4:30 P.M.: Evacuation orders have been lifted and through traffic has been allowed for a few roads outside of the town of Mariposa. The French Camp Rd, Fournier Rd, Mykleoaks Rd, West Whitlock from 49N to Whitlock Gap (Three miles from Hwy 49 N), Hwy 140 from Hornitos Rd to Elizabeth Lane are open to local traffic only. Residents remain under an evacuation advisory and the firefighting effort is still intense in some areas of the fire.
According to CAL FIRE, evacuations on Hwy 140 between Elizabeth Ln to approximately one mile west of the town of Mariposa, remain under an Evacuation Order. All other evacuation orders remain in effect.
The following roads will remain closed: Agua Fria Rd, Mt. Bullion Cuttoff from Hwy 140 to Rd 72 A, Princeton Way closed at Rd 72 B, CYA Camp Rd at Hwy 49, North Bear Valley Rd from Hwy 49 North to Mt. Gaines Rd, Cotton Creek Rd at Bear Valley Rd, Highway 49 North from Oakridge Rd (Coulterville) to the top of Bagby Grade, West Whitlock Rd at Whitlock Gap (Three miles from Hwy 49 N) to Hwy 140, all side roads on Hwy 140 with the exception of Elizabeth Ln, Trower Roads
July 22, UPDATE 1:39 p.m.: CAL FIRE continues to estimate the Detwiler Fire at 75,200 acres with 30 percent containment.
The agency says the fire has destroyed 60 residences, 63 minor structures and 1 commercial structure, and damaged 13 residences and 7 minor structures.
Currently another 1,500 structures are threatened.
