The federal government says Russian cyber actors looked for vulnerabilities in California’s voting systems prior to the 2016 elections.
California Secretary of State Alex Padilla says the Department of Homeland Security informed him Friday. The agency found no evidence of breaches or tampering in the state election system.
California is one of 21 states the Russians scanned, according to Homeland Security.
