Stockton Police are investigating an attack on an eight-year-old boy that was videotaped and posted on social media. The boy was beaten and his bike stolen.
The attack happened along South Union Street near MLK Boulevard on Saturday.
Three teenage boys stole the 8-year-old‘s bike, forced him into a house, and beat him up while recording it on video. Stockton Police Officer Joe Silva says the boy’s parents found the attack posted on Instagram a couple of days later and reported the incident to police.
“Our investigators are talking to the family to see exactly what the family members saw on the video and we’re still trying to obtain the video at this point through the proper channels on Instagram.”
Silva says if investigators receive the video, police will post the pictures of the suspects and ask the public for help in identifying them.
The family has taken the boy out of Stockton for his own safety.
