The last two weeks have been busy ones for Yolo County Sheriff's officials looking for large pot grows.
Last week more than $8.3 million of marijuana plants were seized during three raids. The week before more than $6 million worth of pot plants were eradicated from rural areas of the county.
Yolo County Sheriff's Sgt Matt Davis says several suspects were taken into custody...some from out of state.
"We have made arrests and the individuals that were arrested have been from as far as New York and Georgia. Others have been although not from this county nearby"
Davis wouldn't comment on why there have been a number of raids recently, how they came upon the large grow sites or whether they used aircraft.
Commercial medical marijuana cultivation is allowed in Yolo, but growers need a special permit from the county.
