Brown Approves 'California Disclose Act,' Vetoes Extending License Restrictions

Governor Brown has signed AB 249—The “California Disclose Act”—which requires most campaign ads to display their top three funders, even if those contributions were funneled through other generically-named committees. The governor vetoed another bill that would have extended provisional driver's license restrictions for drivers under age 18 to those under 21. "Eighteen year olds are eligible to enlist in the military, vote in national, state, and local elections, enter into contracts, and buy their own car," Brown wrote in a veto statement. "I believe adults should not be subject to the same driving restrictions presently applied to minors." Read more about SB 63 here.
