Residents in an area of North Auburn were evacuated last night after a vehicle accident on Luther Road caused a gas line to rupture. The Placer County Sheriff's Office says residents on Big Mott Court, Mill Road, Stoddard Way, Shockley Road from Stoddard Way to Luther Road and all streets off of Matson Drive were evacuated a little before 1 a.m. to a nearby church.
PG&E was able to stop the gas leak in about 90 minutes and they were then able to return home. An Everbridge phone message was sent out to residents. The Sheriff's Office is reminding people to sign up for the emergency alert system.
