The U.K.-based University of Warwick announced Thursday that it's pulling out of plans to build a campus in the Sacramento region.
Placer County and the non-profit University Development Foundation offered financing and 600 acres for a campus on land west of Roseville. But University of Warwick officials say they were worried about "the evolving financial framework that would need to be in place to support a research-led comprehensive campus, and some of the regulatory issues that would apply to a non U.S.-based institution."
Meanwhile, the University Development Foundation said it's optimistic it can attract another higher education partner to the site.
