Sacramento County says Sacramento International Airport served 10.9 million passengers in 2017, surpassing the previous record set ten years earlier—by 200,000 people.
Monthly travel through the area's main airport also leapt to historic highs in recent months. September, October, November and December all broke single-month records for passenger travel.
The County says growth is expected to continue this year as airlines have increased seat capacity and added new destinations, including daily service to Orlando, Vancouver, St. Louis, and Austin.
