On Nov. 8, 2018, the Camp Fire devastated Paradise and surrounding Butte County communities, becoming the deadliest and most destructive fire in California history.
While the fire is out and evacuations have been lifted, the recovery process is just beginning.
As those directly affected navigate their new reality, the local public radio station, North State Public Radio, has been producing a radio program called “After Paradise” dedicated to the aftermath of the fire. Each week, they speak with officials, experts and community members — sharing stories of adversity and resilience.
To inform the program, the station is now turning to the public for help in learning what information is needed most. Their goal is to discover what will be most valuable to both those recovering and the state at large as we continue to grapple with increasingly severe wildfires.
Here’s where you come in: we want your questions about the ongoing Camp Fire recovery process. How do you get funds from FEMA? How do you file a fire insurance claim? What's the best way to support people who have been displaced?
Ask your question in the form below, or share it with someone you know affected by the fires. The hope is that by providing answers to important questions from people in Northern California and beyond, together we can quickly get meaningful information to our communities as we all try to heal, learn lessons and move forward.
