Saturday the California Brewers Festival will celebrate its 25th year in Sacramento, and 80 breweries are expected to participate.
The annual event starts at noon at Discovery Park and is run by the Rotary Club of Point West Sacramento. Local charities stand to benefit to the tune of $100,000.
“Service before self is what the Rotarian mantra is,” said the organization’s Randy Seevers. “So we definitely want to utilize this event as a way to raise money and give back to more charities in the Sacramento region."
The women's crisis intervention non-profit, WEAVE and Seevers' "Runnin' for Rhett" foundation that hosts after-school physical education programs for kids are the primary beneficiaries of the festival this year.
In addition to the breweries, the event is also expected to include wine.
