PHOTOS: Downtown Sacramento Picks Up After Night Of Protest, Vandalism Sunday, May 31, 2020 | Sacramento, CA On Sunday morning, downtown Sacramento was littered with debris from property damage and graffiti condemning police and invoking the killing of George Floyd. The night before, a peaceful protest against police brutality eventually ended with people breaking into businesses, taking merchandise and lighting objects on fire. Police fired rubber bullets at the crowds and arrested 18 people. Photographer Ryan Donahue spent the morning documenting what was left behind, as business owners and volunteers worked to clean up the damage.
