Ben Yue has a unique definition of social-distancing: suspended in thin air, strung to a parachute.
His passion is base-jumping, the practice of leaping from cliffs and bridges with a parachute strapped to your back for fun.
“It’s a great way to get that emotional release,” he said.
As the state begins to re-open, Californians are trying to balance a relaxed stay-at-home order and the need to get outside for physical and mental well-being. From the start of the pandemic, state and local officials have recognized the importance of outdoor activity, though at times chafed at the lack of social distancing on trails and at beaches.

As part of its Isolated Together series, CapRadio called on listeners to share sounds of the safe and creative ways they’re getting outside.
Some have found inspiration in their own backyards, while others are finding ways to hit the road and remain socially distanced.
