The LNU Lightning Complex fires — including the Hennessey, Gamble and Spanish Fires — spread quickly toward Vacaville last night, prompting urgent evacuations in the area Wednesday morning. Parts of Fairfield and Yolo County also received evacuation notices later in the day.
The fires — a handful of the 367 burning in the state — destroyed homes and buildings in the area while clouding the skies with smoke throughout the region.
CapRadio Visual Journalist Andrew Nixon documented the scene in Solano County Wednesday as residents fled or stayed behind to protect their property.
