Sacramento Mayor Darrell Steinberg is set to deliver the annual State of the City address Wednesday from the newly remodeled SAFE Credit Union Convention Center.
The speech marks the first since the COVID-19 pandemic shut down much of the city’s economy for more than a year as the virus spread, infecting more than 109,000 people in Sacramento County and killing over 1,700.
Steinberg’s address will be preceded by a performance from Alexandra Huynh, an 18-year-old from Sacramento who was recently named National Youth Poet Laureate.
Watch live here beginning at 8 a.m. Steinberg's remarks are expected to begin around 9 a.m.
