The Mosquito Fire is now 100% contained, firefighters announced Sunday evening.
In total, the fire burned 76,788 acres and destroyed 78 buildings. Crews said smoke may still be visible from unburned vegetation in the interior of the permitter or the fire.
A burn severity map of the Mosquito Fire is available, showing more severe burns around the south and west portions of the fire.
The Tahoe and El Dorado National Forests released a post-fire Burned Area Emergency Response assessment for the areas burned, including what timeline to expect with area recovery.
Placer County and El Dorado County have websites they’re updating regularly with information to assist residents with recovery efforts.
As of Monday morning, there are no fire weather watches or red flag warnings active in California.
