Sacramento’s annual R&B festival Sol Blume, which was set to take place from May 3 to 5, will be rescheduled to August 2025 amid issues with its venue, Discovery Park.
It’s the second year in a row the festival has been rescheduled. Last year, after back-to-back atmospheric river storms, the park flooded and the festival was rescheduled from April to August.
Event organizers announced the change on Friday with a statement posted to their website.
“Mother nature has once again caused commotion and created conditions at the festival site that render it unsafe to build on,” they said. “Due to significant site damage and growing safety concerns, we will not be able to host this year’s festival. Unlike last year, the path to hold a successful reschedule in the same year is not as clear despite our best efforts.”
The festival will be held from August 15 to 17, 2025. Sol Blume officials also said they’d be “permanently transitioning seasons to rid us of any weather related conflicts in the future.”
Artists like SZA, KAYTRAMINÉ (artists KAYTRANADA and Aminé performing as a duo), Snoh Aalegra and Sacramento’s own Nate Curry were set to perform this year.
Festival organizers say everyone who purchased tickets for the 2024 festival will automatically be registered to attend the 2025 event. Those no longer interested in attending the 2025 festival will be eligible for a refund between April 22 and May 17. Sol Blume has more information about ticket changes on its website.
