Majel Connery
A music industry veteran who makes “electro-art-dream-pop with repressed Classical influences,” Connery’s work has been called “superb” by The New York Times. She has written songs about porn, periods and sad fish for Radiolab’s multi-episode series Gonads, and recently finished a 42-city tour as the singer of art-rock band Sky Creature.
Passionate about championing women in music, Connery collaborated with Found Sound Nation to co-curate Rockaway Music Live, a female-fronted concert series hosted by the Rockaway Hotel.
Connery has held academic positions at Princeton, Berkeley, Stanford and Wellesley. She holds a Ph.D. in musicology from the University of Chicago and an A.B. in music composition from Princeton University.
