The Piano Concerto #2 by Sergei Rachmaninoff was in the public domain in the US in 1975 when American pop singer Eric Carmen based his song "All By Myself" on the adagio 2nd movement theme from that Concerto. However, it was still under copyright protections in other countries so he received a greeting from the Rachmaninoff estate. Long story short, everyone worked out a deal that the estate would receive a small percent of royalties from sales of Carmen's song. Hear the music that Eric Carmen loved so much, the Rachmaninoff Piano Concerto #2, with Hélène Grimaud as the soloist, at 2:00pm today on CapRadio Music.
