“In a galaxy far, far away…”
“How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.”
Just a couple famous openings from a movie and a poem. In music, probably the most famous opening belongs to Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony. But do you know the rest of the symphony? Would you recognize the melody of the second movement? The horn calls of the third? The triumphant fanfares of the finale? It’s always good to re-visit Beethoven’s entire Fifth Symphony to be reminded just how good the rest of it is. (Or maybe to introduce a child to it for the first time!) Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony is today’s Midday Masterpiece at 2:00pm on CapRadio Music.
