Johann Sebastian Bach routinely rearranged his own earlier works into new works for different instruments. About ten years after he composed his Suite for Solo Cello #5 he transcribed it into his Lute Suite #3, which was more recently further arranged for guitar. Guitarist Jason Vieaux performs the guitar transcription of Bach’s Lute Suite #3 for today's Midday Masterpiece at 2pm.
