Buckaroo Holiday, Corral Nocturne, Saturday Night Waltz and Hoe-Down. Four musical scenes from Aaron Copland’s 1942 cowboy ballet “Rodeo” that make up the typical Suite version. But today you’ll hear something extra: a recording with the St Louis Symphony that adds back the honky-tonk saloon piano interlude not usually heard in the Suite - played on a slightly out-of-tune upright piano as insisted on by conductor Leonard Slatkin. It’s today’s Midday Masterpiece at 2:00 pm. Yee-haw!
