Though the title implies a concerto for two violin soloists, there are solo appearances for cello and oboe as well. The 18 year old Mozart’s fourth entirely original concerto for any instruments, his Concertone for Two Violins and Orchestra - (Concertone simply meaning “large concerto”) - is today’s Midday Masterpiece at 2:00 pm.
