In a productive year writing works for strings, English composer Frederick Delius composed his Violin Concerto in 1916. Written in a single movement but with changing tempos and an improvisatory feeling, the Delius Violin Concerto is a poetic work that makes its way toward a serene finish. It’s today’s Midday Masterpiece at 2:00 pm.
