Classical Music Playlist, March 14, 2022
For Women's History Month, today we highlight French sisters Nadia and Lili Boulanger and Canadian violinist & conductor Jeanne Lamon (1949-2021). Listen for them throughout the day on CapRadio Music.
Also, Beethoven’s Violin Sonata #9, the “Kreutzer” Sonata, was named for a violinist who didn’t even care for Beethoven’s music and never performed it. But it inspired Tolstoy to write a story around it, and that story inspired others to create books, films, paintings and more. Itzhak Perlman plays Beethoven’s “Kreutzer Sonata” for your Midday Masterpiece at 2pm today here on CR Music.
