Classical Music Playlist, March 30, 2022
Max Bruch's Violin Concerto from 1866 is his most famous work, but he also wrote three symphonies, including his Symphony No. 1 from just a year later. It's a very Brahmsian work - in the best sense of the word - and it was even dedicated to Brahms. Bruch's Symphony No. 1 is your Midday Masterpiece today at 2pm. Plus, we continue to celebrate Women's History Month throughout the day with music by Marianne Martinez from 1700s Vienna. You'll also hear performances from clarinetist Sabine Meyer, one of the first female members of the Berlin Philharmonic and proud owner of a distinguished solo and chamber career.
