Lang Lang | photo: Gregor Hohenberg
The “Yellow River Piano Concerto” was written in 1969 by a collective of musicians who adapted music from the 1939 “Yellow River Cantata” that used traditional folk melodies. To celebrate pianist Lang Lang’s 40th birthday today, you’ll hear him perform the entire “Yellow River Piano Concerto” for our Midday Masterpiece today at 2:00 pm.
