Franz Schubert (1797-1828)
Composed in 1816 at age 19, Franz Schubert himself gave the title “Tragic” to his 4th symphony owing to it being in a minor key and some, but not all, of it having a “tragic” stormy feel. (It's also tragic that Franz Schubert died at the mere age of 31.) Schubert’s “Tragic” Symphony #4 is today's Midday Masterpiece at 2:00 pm.
