Ansel Adams: America, composed by Chris Brubeck and Dave Brubeck, is a symphonic tribute saluting one of America's most cherished artists and environmentalists — Ansel Adams.
Born in San Francisco in 1902, Ansel Adams became a world-famous landscape photographer, working closely with the National Park system and bringing the magic of places like Yosemite to the public. Adams also was a trained classical pianist, a fact which greatly influenced the father and son Dave & Chris Brubeck. Ansel Adams: America is a musical portrait of the great photographer, commissioned in part by the Sacramento Philharmonic Orchestra and nominated for a 2012 Grammy Award for Best Instrumental Composition. Enjoy this slice of Americana as your Presidents Day Midday Masterpiece today at 2pm.
