Randall Goosby | photo: Kaupo Kikkas
American violinist Randall Goosby was a protégé of legendary violinist Itzhak Perlman and a 2022 Avery Fisher Career Grant recipient. He recently teamed with the Philadelphia Orchestra and its Music Director/conductor Yannick Nézet-Séguin to record the two Florence Price Violin Concertos and the Max Bruch Violin Concerto No. 1.
Goosby said of the Bruch Concerto:
“I fell in love with Bruch Concerto No. 1 when I was a kid, and it’s one of those pieces that just doesn’t get old. It is loaded with drama, excitement, heartbreak, and everything in between. What a joy it was to record this all-time favorite with the lush and expressive sound of the Philadelphia Orchestra behind me!”
Goosby’s new recording of the Bruch Concerto is today’s Midday Masterpiece.
