Felix Mendelssohn (1809-1847)
Sometimes the stress of having too many things on your plate leads you to creating some of your best work. That was the case with Felix Mendelssohn in the early 1840s when he was preparing for new jobs that either never happened or did and kept him super busy. But through all that, one of the great works he composed was his Cello Sonata No. 2. From a new release, it’s today's Midday Masterpiece.
