Edvard Grieg (1843-1907) in 1866
Norwegian composer Edvard Grieg wrote his Piano Concerto in A-minor at just age 25 in 1868. It was a triumphant success at its premiere and it quickly became popular around the world and has remained so to this day. With Norwegian pianist Leif Ove Andsnes as the soloist, Edvard Grieg’s Piano Concerto in A-minor is today’s Midday Masterpiece.
