Composer Lowell Liebermann | photo: Joseph Moran
Born in New York in 1961, American composer Lowell Liebermann has written in just about every genre: four symphonies, three piano concertos, two full-length operas, solo piano pieces; over 130 works so far. Plus, Sir James Galway commissioned him to compose three works for flute: a Concerto for Flute and Orchestra; a Concerto for Flute, Harp and Orchestra; and a Trio for Flute, Cello and Piano. From 1992, the Concerto for Flute and Orchestra with flute soloist Eugenia Zukerman is today’s Midday Masterpiece.
