English composer (of Irish descent) EJ Moeran [“MAW-runn”] in 1948 composed a Serenade of eight movements. Upon publication, however, it was thought too long and two movements were removed. These were restored in 1996 back to its original form and this version of Moeran’s Serenade is today's Midday Masterpiece.
