It's said that the cello in the String Quartet No. 2 is the amorous “voice” of composer Alexander Borodin while the first violin represents his wife, to whom he dedicated the quartet as a 20th anniversary gift that recalls their courtship. The ardent String Quartet #2 by Alexander Borodin is today's Valentine's Day Midday Masterpiece.
