Camille Saint-Saëns (1835-1921)
Dedicated to and premiered by the virtuoso Spanish violinist Pablo de Sarasate in 1880, the Violin Concerto No. 3 by French composer Camille Saint-Saëns is known for its melody and passion. Probably the most enduring of his three violin concertos, it’s today’s Midday Masterpiece.
