Sir Neville Marriner | photo: Lukasz Unterschuetz/NPR
Today would have been conductor Sir Neville Marriner’s 100th birthday. He also supervised the selection of Mozart’s music for the movie “Amadeus” which was released 40 years ago in 1984.
So we’re celebrating both today by playing Marriner performances (of various composers) throughout the day including his recording of the Mozart Piano Concerto No. 20 with the late Czech pianist Ivan Moravec for today's Midday Masterpiece.
