Leonard Bernstein premiered his Chichester Psalms on July 15th, 1965. Written on a commission from the Chichester Cathedral in Sussex, England, the work sets Psalms in Hebrew and sung by a boy’s choir and soloists. The work is contemporary, uplifting, and hopeful for brotherhood and peace. It’s today's Midday Masterpiece.
