Violinist Hilary Hahn | photo: O.J. Slaughter
Beethoven’s only Violin Concerto premiered in 1806 but then languished for decades until Felix Mendelssohn conducted it in London in 1844, 17 years after Beethoven’s death. The Concerto then became a standard in the violin concerto repertory. With American violinist Hilary Hahn, it’s today's Midday Masterpiece.
