Czech composer Antonín Dvořák
Instead of quoting actual folk tunes, composer Antonin Dvořák created original melodies in authentic Czech folk style for his Piano Quintet No. 2. The result is charmingly tuneful and often cited among the best in the form alongside the Piano Quintets of Brahms and Schumann. It’s today’s Midday Masterpiece.
