There may have been only one Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, but that didn’t stop people from calling other composers the “Swedish Mozart, or the “French Mozart.”
Not to mention the “South American Mozart,” the “Black Mozart,” and two composers who vied for the title of the “English Mozart.”
And then there’s the sad case of the real Mozart’s son, whose mother pushed him—unsuccessfully—to become “The Second Mozart.”
