The Prodigy Connection

  

Mozart wrote his first symphony at the age of eight.

Clara Schumann began composing when she was nine.

Saint-Saens was writing piano pieces at 3 ½ and completed his Symphony in A at 15.

Both Richard Strauss and Erich Korngold were composing at the age of six and both produced around a hundred works by the time they were 16.

In this hour, we’ll explore the works of these and other child prodigies—and why early achievement does not always guarantee success as an adult.
