You have the opportunity to enjoy an afternoon of great art and great music.
Let Steinway Artist Natsuki Fukasawa and Igor Veligan, guest principal violinist with the Reno Philharmonic, transport you to France at the turn of the 20th century with sonatas by César Franck and Maurice Ravel.
Belgian-born Franck became an important figure in late 19th-century Paris, working in the same artistic milieu as French Impressionist painters of the day.
Ravel was considered an “impressionistic” composer, and his work showcased here coincides with the post-WWI art in the Crocker’s own California Impressionism collection.
Together, these composers form a “French connection,” moving you musically to another era.
The concert is part of the Crocker’s monthly Classical Concert series with Prelude Tours preceding the concert at 1 & 2 p.m.
