Call it performance art, a sound collage, even an opera — UC Davis music composers and creative writing students recently teamed up to create original pieces of music through the “New Words and New Music with Voice” project. But how did they collaborate at a distance during COVID-19? 

CapRadio’s Classical Music director Kevin Doherty talked to composer Trey Makler about how he created the piece, “Spaceman/Watchman” with creative writers Sawyer Elms and Jordan Dahlen.
