This Concert In The Park line-up show's off our city's musical diveristy with a number of local acts from a range of sounds. Dance Gavin Dance made a name for themselves in the screamo scene, Life In 24 frames could sooth an angry water buffalo and City Of Vain could whip that water buffalo into a Sacramento soccer-loving frenzy.
Dance Gavin Dance
Since 2005 Dance Gavin Dance has been blowing away audiances with big, bold, driving post-hardcore screamo.

Life In 24 Frames
These guys, and gal, stopped by the studio to talk to Insight, and I grabbed them for a few questions of my own.
Life In 24 Frames On Insight
Life In 24 frames is currently:
Kris Adams – vocals and guitar
Jason Brown – Bass and Vocals
Lindsey Pavao – Guitar, Keyboard, Vocals
Richie Smith – Guitar & Vocals
Joey Strouth - Drums
Why do you do what you do?
“It’s cheaper than therapy,” Adams joked.
“Is it?” Pavao retorted.
“Nah,” Adams admitted.
“It’s a void artists have,” explained Pavao. “It’s best to keep it that simple.”
Adams founded Life In 24 Frames, right out of film school, in 2009. Since then they’ve had some line-up changes, gotten to play lots of fun shows, and garnered the attention of a high-traffic video game website.
Adams has a few prominently Mario-inspired tattoos.
“Obviously, I’m into video games,” he said.
He formed a relationship with the folks over at IGN and ended up doing music on some of their podcasts and even playing at their offices in San Francisco, this connection introduced their music to a huge new audience.
Adams' Art On IGN
“We’ve been told it’s good music to play video games to,” Adams said.
The lyrics don’t have anything to do with gaming, but the spacey style is conducive to running around other-worlds shooting aliens or questing for dragon’s eggs.
Life In 24 Frames has released two LPs, Time Trails in 2011 and Bitter End in March. They are releasing The Bitter End on vinyl in July.
