Music is a big part of the human experience. It accentuates everything we do. It helps us relate to people and situations. And even books.
That’s why I prepare a playlist for every author who comes to CapRadio Reads. When we read a book was about Russia, I included everything from folk music to Pussy Riot. For the selection set in Minnesota, there were some current singer/songwriters as well Bob Dylan. And a polka.
John Lescroart is our next guest author. I’ll interview him on Tuesday, June 13 with a live audience. What to play? Easy. John comes with his own built-in playlist.
In addition to having written almost 30 novels, Lescroart has played with Joe Craven and with his own band. He offers a nice blend of country and rock sounds, with some great solos and technically challenging harmonies. His deep, kind of raspy voice works, whether it’s a romantic tune or a rocker about life in general.
The stakes are high when a bestselling novelist forays into another, equally public, form of performance.
In both arenas, John Lescroart kills it.
