Mike McMullen has enjoyed a long career as a jazz saxophonist, playing alongside greats like Ray Charles, Natalie Cole and Randy Brecker.
His new album, "Picture Book," honors his recently deceased mother and his musical mentors, as an emotional tribute to a life well lived.
McMullen performed live in the Insight studio, along with his collaborator and fellow Sacramento State music professor Steve Homan.
