Taking care of a parent or a spouse with dementia is a labor of love, but it’s a full-time labor of love, and sometimes you need help. That’s why daytime care programs for people with dementia exist, to not only give breaks to caregivers, but to help person who has dementia. In the lead up to the airing of Capital Public Radio’s latest documentary “Who Cares,” Insight is focusing on different aspects of caregiving. In Tuesday’s show we’re speaking with Linda Masuda, who cares for her mother, and Rick Rayburn, who cars for his wife. Both caregivers take advantage of adult day programs to lighten the burden of helping their loved ones. The documentary “Who Cares” airs Friday morning at 9:00 in place of Insight.
