Considered by some one of the greatest living guitarists, Roland Dyens is known for his extraordinary capacity for improvisation. The classical guitarist draws on elements of folk music and jazz and his shows are often regarded as “transformative,” expanding audience members’ understanding of the guitar’s musical potential. Dyens is in Sacramento for two shows this weekend, one Saturday at the Harris Center in Folsom, and another on Sunday at the First United Methodist Church in Sacramento. His visit is sponsored by the Sacramento Guitar Society, which tasks itself with bringing the world’s greatest guitarists to the area.
